Where Minetom started

Minetom began in 2014 with one kind of light: fairy lights on thin copper wire. The wire bends and stays bent, so the strand could wrap a headboard, fill a glass jar or trace a window without a single hook.

Those first strands ran on batteries. People asked for longer ones, then plug-in ones, then ones that could go outside. Each question added a design to the range.

A range that follows the calendar

Holidays shaped what we make next. Halloween asked for orange and purple strands. Christmas asked for C9 bulbs on the roofline and icicles on the eaves. Summer asked for Edison bulbs over the patio and solar strands for yards with no outlet.

So the site is laid out the same way, by month. Pick the date that is coming up and you see what fits it.

What we check before a light joins the range

We switch every new strand on at home first and look at it at dusk. We check that warm white looks warm, that the timer turns the lights off when it should, and that the clips hold on a real gutter.

We also write what each light will not do. Solar strands stay dim under a deep porch roof. A battery curtain left on all night will need new batteries within days. You will find those notes on every product page.

Tops, too

Alongside the lights, Minetom makes a line of women's tops: V-neck tees, henleys and quarter zips in soft stretch fabric. They sit in their own shop, in sizes Small to XX-Large.
